Short film: Feeling Violet – 1. South of the Border
South of the Border is a DIY project regarding film and dance, created together with Laure Ravier (the woman behind the camera). This short film is the first of seven. All of them combined shaping the visual album ‘Feeling Violet’.
For the first time we were working with a camera and editing software. The process was new and exciting, as well as frustrating at times. Still, the importance of starting the project from scratch and learning along the way, outweighed the convenience of outsourcing the filming process.
‘Overcharging your body and mind in combination with our fragile human nature may lead to suffering. How do you cope? Is there room for peace of mind within self inflicted pain?’

For SwingDom (a swing dance festival based in Holland) Mirjam was invited to show an alternative interpretation of the music swing dancers know so well: jazz.

Schrit_tmacher Festival, Generation 2 – Choreografie: Honey Eavis
Voor Schrit_tmacher Festival 2022, maakte Honey Eavis het stuk ‘Krassen’ dat haar ervaring met de Covid pandemie vertaalt naar dans. Dansers: Mirjam Ravier, Geranimo Vlijt.
IN DE MAAK – De Nijverheid
De Nijverheid: ”Bij de Nijverheid houden we van het maakproces. Daarom wordt deze zomer ons terras ook af en toe een speelvlak. Voor repetities en maakprocessen op locatie! Onder de noemer ‘IN DE MAAK’ krijgen verschillende performance artiesten de ruimte om een week lang hier op locatie te werken. Met in het weekend twee keer een performance van wat er uit die maakweek is gekomen. Soms is dat een tussenstand van het maakproces, soms al het eindresultaat, maar altijd een performance op ons terras, voor publiek.”

Tuimel & Bounce – Danstheater AYA

Tuimel & Bounce (3+) is choreographed by Honey Eavis, and performed by Stefan Seedorf, Sacha Muller, and myself.
‘Oh nee, BAM, daar kukel je weer! Best moeilijk om in balans te blijven. En niet alleen als je een peuter bent… De dansers in de hiphopvoorstelling Tuimel & Bounce zijn supersterren als het gaat om vallen. Gelukkig stuiteren ze ook weer terug. Gastchoreografe Honey Eavis maakt een voorstelling voor kinderen vanaf drie jaar. Met twee ijzersterke urban dansers en een speler in een decor waar allerlei verrassingen uitpiepen en -klappen.’ – Danstheater AYA
